TUC Fit Note Guidance And Seminar Information Now Available

As reported by Unionsafety in March, the TUC have been conducting seminars on the new 'Fit Note' which replaced the old style sick note from 6th April 2010.

Dave Joyce, CWU National Health, Safety & Environment Officer has issued to all CWU branches this week LTB293/10 which gives details of the information available to Union Safety Reps on various government and TUC websites.

As many USR's have no doubt been involved in member's personal cases involving accidents and injury sustained at work, Dave points out that the briefings and information will be of value to USR's:

"...there may be an important role to play for Health and Safety Representatives in supporting members where the doctor recommends an early return to work or a phased return to work on a rehabilitation plan which includes changes such as amended duties and workplace adaptations etc."
